The Best Robot Vacuum and Mop Combo
The Q Revo is a great choice if you are looking for a robot vacuum and mop that's priced in the middle. It has a great mopping capability, but it lacks certain of the more advanced features that are found in its more expensive sibling.
During tests, it was able remove pet hair and dry oats out of medium-pile carpets. But, unlike cheaper models, it doesn't employ LIDAR to determine the layout of your home.
Roomba s9+ from iRobot
The iRobot Roomba S9+ robot vacuum is one of the most highly-rated robots. It has a lot of features and incredible cleaning power, including the dirt compartment built into the base of charging. The robot also learns your habits of cleaning and suggest automatic schedules for a truly hands-free experience.
The setup process is simple thanks to the iRobot Home app that walks you through the process. Once the system is set up you can begin the automatic cleaning with a single button press. You can choose the general clean option, which prioritizes the removal of larger particles like rice and cereal. Or you can select two detailed mappings to ensure that your home is cleaned thoroughly.
This vacuum works well on both floors with no carpet and carpets with a low pile. It can pick up pet hair and clean big objects up. It doesn't lose suction as quickly as other robot vacuums. It has a difficult time with carpets that are high-pile or plush however iRobot promises that the next models will be better.
The S9+ features a new design from iRobot that focuses on enhancing edge and corner cleaning. It's the very first Roomba that has an open-fronted, flat-fronted design. The company hopes this will allow it to fit into the furniture and walls. It's a nice change from the hockey puck-like design of robovacs, but we found it to be marginally better than circular models.
iRobot claims that the S9+ also has an advanced filtration system which blocks microscopic particles and allergens recirculating in your home. We think it's a nice claim however, it's not enough to justify a higher price.
Its intelligent navigation system makes use of sensors to store the structure of your home, and vSLAM to map your interior of your home. This allows it to steer clear of obstacles, such as staircases and other barriers, and also to clean your entire house in the most efficient manner possible. The iRobot Home App allows you to schedule cleaning times and set virtual boundary markers so that the robot knows the areas that require attention.
2. Roborock Q Revo
When it comes to robots that combine mopping and vacuuming, the Roborock Q Revo is a standout. Its vac settings are as effective as those of more expensive models and its mopping system is even better. Its spinning pads do a much more impressive job of scrubbing floors than a stationary vibrating pad.
The only issue is the absence of a second brush to allow for deeper cleaning. However, it's not a major issue for those who want to own one of the top robots on the market. The robo-vac's dust tank is also larger than many of its rivals and it takes only two or three cycles to fill it, even with the maximum dirt level.
For the mopping device, I was impressed with its ability to remove hard-to-clean dirt from my floors. Its two mopping modes at the lowest that are less aggressive than the more powerful ones, produce little noise, allowing you to work or watch TV without interruption. It will gently hit furniture or walls, and then move on if it comes across one.
What really distinguishes the Q Revo apart is that it's designed to run nearly autonomously with very little need for user intervention. The robo-vac has a multifunction dock that automatically moves physical garbage into the bin hidden from view and also washes and drys the mop pads, and refills its clean water tank. The app is capable of notifying you when something is in need of attention, for example, the water tank being empty or a scheduled cleaning session being cancelled due to a stuffed dust bin.
You can also create and combine rooms to modify the way that Q Revo will treat your home. This is an excellent feature if you have multiple rooms in your home that have different floor materials or if there's a lot of clutter that must be cleared out frequently, like toys, clothes, and books. The robot vacuum is also efficient and was one of the top performers in my tests, removing debris from carpets as well as hardwoods in its first run. It is able to vacuum up wet spills. I suggest drying the area with a towel prior to sending it in.
3. Ecovacs Deebot X2 Omni
The X2 Omni is a premium robot mop and vacuum that has all the features you can wish for. It comes with a rotating mop and a powerful vacuum that can clean carpets as well as hard floors. It's akin to the iRobot Roomba S9+. It also has a self-cleaning station that automatically washes and cleans mop pads to keep them clean and ready for reuse. It also comes with a brand new sensor system that can better detects obstacles, giving it the ability to avoid falling over furniture or other objects.
The biggest difference over the ECOVACS Deebot X1 is that this version is sleeker and more modern design thanks to Danish firm Jacob Jensen Design (best known for its Bang & Olufsen products). While still quite massive--it's nearly two feet tall and deep and weighs in excess of four pounds--the entire robot and its base are much smaller than the Roborock Q Revo or iRobot j7.
This version is more efficient than the X1 as it charges faster and can clean up 1,500 square feet in a single charge. It also has a larger and more robust dustbin that can store more debris. This makes it easier to empty.
The X2 Omni also has a more natural voice assistant and an app that can be used even if you are not at home. It also comes with a smart routing feature that allows it to clean specific areas or rooms of your home, instead of following a predetermined path.
The Omni Omni has the best mopping performance of any robot we've tested because best robot cleaner of its mop pads rotating to remove tough stains and a motor that generates plenty of downward pressure. Its vacuuming is excellent too and it enhances suction when it detects carpets to ensure that it does a thorough job. It is equipped with a large, rechargeable battery that can last up to one week. The mopping feature of the robot is also very effective.
4. Dreametech L10s Ultra
The Dreametech L10s Ultra is a top-quality mop and vacuum robot that comes with a host of convenience features you aren't likely to find on robots of this price. It can create precise floor maps and recognize different types of flooring. It's also among the few robots that can automatically clean and dry its mop pad. These are nice features however they can place the L10s in the class of luxury. This could mean it's more expensive than homeowners need.
The L10s Ultra looks like a modern floor cleaning machine. It is slim and tall, with a white finish accented with silver elements and mirror plating. The front of the machine is dominated by an enormous bumper that helps protect the vacuum and furniture from damage when moving around the house. Sensors are concealed behind the front pane which help the L10s Ultra navigate around tight corners and avoid obstacles.
On the top, you'll find a single button that essentially serves as the on/off switch. This button will turn on the vacuum. By pressing it again, you can turn it off and send it back to its base station. The circular menu in the center of the control panel lets you to select cleaning modes as well as schedules and preferences. The left and right buttons beneath the screen will bring up the app's settings menu where you can modify how the L10s Ultra works with your home.
Similar to the iRobot Roomba S9+ and Roborock Q Revo, the L10s Ultra uses a combination of LIDAR and camera-based navigation technologies to map out your house. This allows the robot to clean and mop efficiently, without getting stuck. The LIDAR also helps the robot vacuum detect and avoid obstacles which is a great feature for households with pets or children.
The L10s Ultra is an efficient vacuum cleaner that removes 98.4 percent of the debris we test on hardwood floors and removing all but stubborn juice stains. Its mops also perform well in removing 98.4 percent of the debris from our carpet, tile and wood tests. It was not as efficient at removing sand from the hard floor or quaker oatmeal from the carpet.
